Director of Digital Strategy

If so, we have an immediate opening for a Director of Digital Strategy in the Digital Division of our SoHo office. This position reports to the AVP of Digital Strategy and assists with client activations, departmental initiatives, new business, and planning. The right hire will be entrepreneurial in spirit, with a positive outlook, who has demonstrable experience leading successful teams in the digital agency space.

Primary Responsibilities

The Director of Digital Strategy will oversee and work closely with our engagement team to expand the communities of our clients, as well as play a lead role in implementing and optimizing communications strategies and overseeing the planning and development of all digital activations.

Digital Strategy

  • Work closely with the AVP of Strategy to develop and communicate strategic positioning for key clients, using data-driven insights

  • Lead creative briefings for month-to-month calendar creation as well as tentpole initiatives

  • Partner closely with creative, accounts and strategy team to test and improve campaign creative, copy, and audience targeting to ensure campaign optimization

  • Lead strategy for digital media buying to optimize spend across key channels and audience targets

Paid Media

  • Develop, plan and execute paid digital marketing initiatives (in partnership with the team’s paid specialist) including paid social media, search and display advertising campaigns

  • Optimize and structure existing channels with the latest best practices and continuously test new acquisition channels and strategies

  • A/B testing campaign creatives and audience segments to optimize channel performance

Reporting & Analytics

  • Analyze results of all campaigns, using learning to optimize campaign performance and set future test plan; use data to refine actionable audience targets and promotions

  • Measure, analyze, and report campaign performance weekly, provide campaign performance briefs to creative and both internal and external stakeholders

  • Perform sentiment analysis, reporting/social analytics 

Client Management

  • Partner with clients on the planning and execution of digital, social media, web, and retailer e-comm marketing campaigns

  • Build strong relationships with clients while deepening their knowledge of social/digital marketing

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 5-6 years of agency experience in digital marketing, preferably in CPG or beauty

  • 1-2 years managerial experience, setting clear goals and mentoring junior team members

  • Significant experience working with specific digital channels (Search, Display, Social); experience in eCRM & Email Marketing a plus

  • Experience working in Google Analytics, Facebook Business Manager, Moz and other social listening tools

  • Proven track record managing marketing channels and optimizing performance

  • Experience turning quantitative and qualitative research into strategic recommendations

  • Detail-oriented, flexible, and willing to work in a fast-paced, demanding client-focused environment with set deadlines

  • Candidate must reside in NYC

  • Bachelor’s Degree

PR Account Director

CMM is looking for a self-motivated, pro-active Account Director to join our dynamic PR team. The Account Director will work on several well-known beauty brands and report directly to the team’s Vice President while overseeing a team of 2-3 people.

Responsibilities Include

  • Working with clients to uncover and identify business needs and objectives

  • Crafting appropriate strategies, timelines, budgets and implementation plans

  • Anticipating client needs and identifying issues/concerns in order to proactively develop solutions

  • Developing broad industry expertise with a regional and national scope

  • Building trust, credibility, and client referrals.

  • Initiating regular contact with client contacts to review priorities, share counsel and garner feedback

  • Tracking results for clients and then determining media targets and goals

  • Reviewing press materials, proposals, agendas, weekly client reports

  • Leveraging strong relationships with senior editors to generate results and develop strategic opportunities

  • Advising and mentoring team members on appropriate media strategy

  • Attending media tours and managing event planning

  • Overall program and budget management for clients and each campaign

  • Helping with new business including generating leads, research, developing proposals, attending new business meetings and presenting ideas

Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have a minimum of 7 years of experience pitching consumer beauty and lifestyle product accounts

  • Have strong media contacts with beauty editors at the top national consumer publications

  • Be creative, resourceful and have a keen attention to detail

  • Be able to contribute to a team atmosphere and work well with others

  • Do whatever it takes to provide the ultimate service to both clients and the media

  • Have a sense of humor, a sense of loyalty and be able to think outside of the box

  • Be able to meet deadlines and thrive in a fast paced atmosphere

  • Demonstrate ability to plan and prioritize a team’s workload, keeping Vice President informed of all developments relating to client work

  • Pitch and secure placements for our clients in national consumer print and broadcast media outlets

  • Oversee performance of AE and SAE

  • Draft and edit press releases, invitations, background information sheets, status reports

  • Develop a greater, more detailed understanding of client business, markets and issues affecting them
